Fantastic account of the formation and history of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company of New York with many printed photos in the text describing the company's inner offices. Insurance was an industry that allowed women to have a full time job, and there are photos illustrating offices staffed with women.
Folio, 113pp, with b&w illustrations throughout text. Bound in white cloth with almost the entire front and rear panels being taken up by chromolithographic title (front board) and view of the building (rear panel). Lightly rubbed at extremities. A fine copy of a very scarce book as seen by the low number of copies recorded on OCLC. Made especially scarce by the large size of the volume.
