This is first of a series of tipped in color plate gift books, a production that made Rackham a household name. The second impression was published two months after the first and is an exact replica. The green endpaper has the autograph of the original owner and the date of 'Xmas 1909'.
4to, original dark green cloth binding with gilt lettering and decoration on front and spine, 82pp, with color frontispiece and fifty color plates mounted onto thicker paper and with a tissue guard that has the title printed on it. Spine slt sunned, edges rubbed, very light foxing on occasional pages, plates are immaculate. Overall very good condition. Item #29306
