Wonderful and somewhat surreal illustrations by Kleyer, a German artist who trained under the Expressionist painter Ludwig Meidner. A period inscription in German on the illustrated title page reads, "Zum Andenken an Frau Kleyer" (In memory of Mrs. Kleyer); dated Jan 7 192[4].
Sml. folio, 18pp, text facing full page color lithographic illustrations. Original pictorial papered boards, cloth spine with tears, somewhat marked and chipped, text block loose in covers, internally very nice.
