Alfred Delamotte, top edge gilt. Period full calf binding, spine in six compartments, raised bands, elaborately gilt decorated, red title & date labels, green author label. Gilt rules on boards, gilt inner & outer dentelles, marbled endpapers. A very pleasant copy, extreme edges lightly rubbed, some plates and engraved title are foxed at edges. A very good copy. Second one volume edition. This book was first published in original parts, then in a three volume edition with only the illustrated frontispieces, and in 1843 in a one-volume, fully-illustrated edition.
